Forza Horizon 3 is now set in Australia this time, Which is a little less exotic than the coast of France. The outback does provide a really diverse world where racing isn’t limited to tarmac but hybrid rally type races are a thing making for one extremely fun adventure. In the trailers we saw how they were trying to push off-road racing, this allows you get down and dirty with some buggy action.
Normally when thinking of an in game sky we don’t give too much appreciation no matter how detailed or extremely detailed it may be, but be sure to give an extra thought to the sky boxes in Forza Horizon 3 because the developers accompanied by 12K HDR cameras set out to Australia to capture authentic sky visuals for the game to make it feel as real as technology allows it to be. The new sky boxes are also said to improve car reflections and shadows.
Forza Horizon 3 now allows the player to choose an in game avatar which was previously not a thing. Although not a true character customization module it is a nice touch awarding you the choice of around 20 characters and around ~500 names. Your chosen avatar will not have the ability to speak but they do appear in cut scenes.
Forza Horizon 3 has Groove integration allowing you to play your favorite tracks instead of listening to the 8 available radio stations. To make use of the Groove Music integration all you need to do is have music stored on your Onedrive account that Groove can access and you’re ready to rock, if the Groove integration does not work for you it isn’t a huge knock as the Xbox can already play music from the Groove service in the background just don’t forget to mute in game audio.
As many of us spotted in the first trailer for Forza Horizon 3 the liberty walk sticker and wide body kit on the M4 we knew the game would include a much deeper level of customization that previous titles. The game offers a deep level of customization but it has also introduced a simple top layer customization menu of sorts for seasoned players.
In this game instead of participating in the festival you are now the organizer which gives you the option to customize events. You are allowed to change almost everything and customize races as you progress, this is made possible by the powerful Horizon blueprint.
