Byte-Sized Bits

What Is Byte-Sized Bits?

Hello, World!

Well, hello there! I am David Jenkins, the creator of Byte-Sized Bits.

I'd like to start by thanking you. Specifically, I want to call out your interest in what we are doing. And, your general interest in the world of technology.

Without curious and inquisitive individuals—just like you and us—humanity would not be where it is. Nor would we be able to follow our dreams of educating the future of humanity's technological innovations.

So, again, thank you!

Who are we?

Put quite plainly, we are individuals that have a love for technology and a deeply ingrained care for education.

The creator & owner of Byte-Sized Bits is myself (the author), David Jenkins. I started my foray into technology at the age of 9. Intially my interests were less on technology itself, but more on cultivating a sense of community for my Halo CE clan. Though, I'm not too sure I would have worded it this way, back then. :)

From there my love for technology at the software level continued to grow. I started primarily working as a freelancer pretty young, and continued this path through the age of 20. That is, until I got hired at various startups of varying sizes.

I've architected, programmed, deployed, & managed systems with millions of users. I've scaled systems as a sole developer well beyond what most would deem probable. And, I've got an absolute admiration for both sofware & physical products. Both of which can scratch that creative itch.

You could say, I've been around the block a time or two. And, I really just want to share my insights.

What is our goal?

We want to make technology more accessible to individuals of all experience levels.

We believe that the best way to learn is by doing. We also can concur that when you want to dive into the world of technology, it can be difficult to find the information you are looking for. Or, better yet, where to even start.

That's why we want to make it easier. Easier to start. Easier to follow along. But also, easier to learn electronics, hardware, & software.

What are we working on?

Well: kits, tutorials, & more content!

Kits

Our goal here? To create entire kits that will enable self-driven creative freedom and technical exploration, while staying easy to follow.

In essence, we want you to explore the world of technology at your pace. We want to ensure you have the ability to insert your own creativity freely. All while being easy to follow, and educational.

Our kits will include physical electronic components required to complete the entire project. Packaged together with guides breaking down every step of the way.

Tutorials

Why stop at guides for kits?

We want to create tutorials that encompass the entirety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). While we aren't too sure what this will entail in the future; we are sure that it will be a part of our future.

Tutorials could come in the form of articles, videos, or more!

And more!

More represents an open-ended future for us. While we have our current focuses, we are not actually too sure what our future will look like. This is "the spot to watch". As we learn how to better educate and entertain future makers and technological leaders, we will very surely adjust what we provide, and how we provide it.

Goodbye, World! (until next time! 🙂)

This is just the beginning of our journey.

While this is not technically the very beginning of Byte-Sized Bits (a story for another time), it is very much the beginning of a proper foundation. And, the beginning of us providing a more entertaining, engaging, and educational experience (we'll dub that the quad-E's!).

Before this is wrapped, we also would like to extend another thank you for hearing us out, and again for your curiosity. Keep on being brilliant.
